Global Communication - A question of language?
08, Aug 2009 14:02
The one-week intensive seminar will be focused on the subject of global communication. The theme and medium of performance art is part of the Global Communication Festival, organised by the Polish performance artist Bartek Łukasiewicz.
Apart from being able to use the universal language of English how do the artists, all originating from 6 different countries, get along with one another? Bearing in mind the cultural similarities and differences, how do they express their arguments? How do they expand the term globalisation in a positive way? And how do they transform the results into a personal statement?
The participants will apply these and other questions in an intensive work week with the aim of developing a performance.
They will use their bodies as a work tool, communicate through pictures they have created (in which a relationship between space and time has been established), study the atmosphere of their surroundings and the energy of other participants, and form bit by bit, visual analogies in the shape of an artistic performance.
What they have to say can be seen live at the presentation of the developed performances that takes place at the Global Communication Festival organised by Bartek Łukasiewicz.
